Microplastic-free food products
We are pleased to inform you that no microplastics have been detected in our non-fluoride sea salt, which is used as an ingredient in many of our products, according to our most recent analysis. It’s fantastic news!
Microplastics are everywhere; they can be found at the bottom of the sea, in beach sand, and can even blow in the wind. According to a study published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, humans may consume anywhere from 39,000 to 52,000 microplastic particles per year. When salt is extracted from the sea, it may contain microplastic particles, which can be detrimental to human health if consumed.
Purity and quality
Regular analytical studies and chemical analyses to determine the absence of microplastic particles ensure the purity and quality of the sea salt used in our products. Schullo works with reputable laboratories in the United States such as EMSL, which are well-equipped with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Infrared light microscopes can detect particles as small as 250 -5 m (0.25–0.005 mm), making them helpful for microplastic investigation.
