The coastal area just south of the Equator (1.8019°S approx.) where the rice is cultivated.
Ecuador on the world map.
From the coastal regions of Ecuador in South America, we bring you premium Long-Grain Brown Rice, grown just south of the equator. This area of Ecuador receives abundant rain due to the Andes Mountains and 12 hours of daylight year-round.
For millennia, the western coastal lands of the Andes Mountains have provided water and sediment that create highly fertile soils for abundant plants and crops. With average temperatures between 77–82∞ Fahrenheit (25–28∞ C), the weather is perfect for the large rice paddies. For many years, the rice husks and plants have traditionally been recycled as compost. We can attest to that, as the gardens at our production facility have benefited from this eco-friendly tradition! Enjoy the delicious nutty flavor of our Long-Grain Brown Rice.
