Schullo flour is 100% organic and glyphosate-free—and provenance matters. Our unbleached white flour, wholewheat flour, and wheat bran all come from Finland, as do all our oat products: steel-cut, thick, quick, and oat bran.
All our oats and flours are certified organic by the European Union, grown exclusively in Finland, and verified to be glyphosate-free. Unlike many wheat-growing regions—including North America and Australia—Finland prohibits the pre-harvest use of glyphosate on cereals intended for food. In practice, this standard also applies to feed grains, as it is a key quality requirement for most Finnish grain buyers.
“The pre-harvest treatment of cereals intended for food purposes with glyphosate is prohibited in Finland.”

By contrast, glyphosate has been widely used for decades in large grain-producing regions as a weed and grass control agent. While some studies suggest glyphosate alone may not be carcinogenic, others indicate evidence of carcinogenic potential—particularly when combined with other chemicals, which can increase overall toxicity.
To uphold our standards, we conduct annual third-party testing to ensure our oats and wheat remain glyphosate-free. These analyses are performed by Medallion Laboratories in Minneapolis, MN, alongside regular testing at our Finnish mill.
All our granolas, mueslis, and cookies are made using these premium oats and flours and are produced entirely in our own factory.
Finnish oats and wheat are grown north of the 60th parallel—a latitude comparable to Alaska or Greenland. With up to 19 hours of daylight during summer and a clean Arctic climate, Finland’s pristine growing conditions produce some of the world’s finest premium oats and wheat.
