New Zealand Onion Balsamic Chutney is like a relish or jam – a savory combination of fruit and spices. Chutneys are perfect with cheese and crackers, meat, fish, poultry, burgers, sandwiches, quiches, and curries. They add depth of flavor to soups and stews and make a delicious glaze for ham and chicken. Mix a few spoons full with sweet potatoes or pumpkin and bake.
Rural New Zealand, in particular the Waikato where our chutney is handcrafted, is unique for its two landscapes—one above ground, the other subterranean.
Subterranean Waitomo Glowworm caves in the Waikato region of New Zealand, near the entrance to the cave system.
As you progress deeper into the caves the glowworms (Arachnocampa luminosa) light up the darkness.

Rural New Zealand, in particular the Waikato where our chutney is handcrafted, is unique for its two landscapes—one above ground, the other subterranean. The Waikato area is characterized by the productive rolling green farmland surrounding the Waikato River. The subterranean landscape features a labyrinth of caves and caverns filled with millions of stalactites and stalagmites and is home to equally numerous enchanting glowworms (Arachnocampa luminosa), native to New Zealand.
