Crops in the Finnish countryside.
Finland on the world map.
All our oats are grown in Finland. Finnish Oats are grown north of the 60 parallel, which is like growing oats in Alaska or Greenland! Finland’s pristine wilderness environment gets up to 19 daylight hours in the summer, and its Arctic weather produces the world’s finest premium glyphosate free oats.
Finland has abundant water reserves; they use only 3% of them annually. Agriculture in Finland accounts for 5% of that total, making it one of the most sustainable agriculture sectors in the world, with a very small water footprint. Worldwide, the figure for agriculture is 70% of total water usage.
Sustainable farming practices are widespread in Finland: a small water footprint due to water management, reduced tilling of soil, winter cover crops to protect the soil, protective zones left alongside waterways and ditches, crop rotation, and extremely minimal use of pesticides, as the cold winters kill off most pests and weeds.
Finland—it’s unique, it’s straightforward, it’s Arctic! What’s not to love?
Oat bran is the outer layer of the oat grain and contains a high percentage of insoluble and soluble fiber. Once the husk of the oat grain is removed, what is left is the groat. It is the outer layer of the groats that are shelled, leaving the organic oat bran, which is fantastic for making smooth porridge; sprinkling into many recipes, cereals, and salads; and for baking high-fiber foods.
