All our wheat is grown in Finland. Finnish organic wheat bran is grown north of the 60 parallel, which is like growing wheat in Alaska or Greenland! Finland’s pristine wilderness environment gets up to 19 daylight hours in the summer, and the midnight sun and its Arctic weather produce the some of the world’s most varied wheat without the use of glyphosate.
Finland is the world’s northern most grain-producing country. Most of the agricultural production is on family-owned farms. All Finnish grains are traceable to the family farm that produced the grain, by means of “the Grain Chain.” Most Finns still bake at home using naturally matured flour.
Sustainable farming practices are widespread thanks to a small water footprint, reduced tilling of soil, protective zones left alongside waterways and ditches, crop rotation, and a cold winter keeping pests and weeds at bay. Finland: it’s unique, it’s straightforward, it’s Arctic!
