We recycle approximately 95% of any plastic, cartons, metal, and glass that is used at our production facility. The advantage of recycling PET bottles is that they can be recycled repeatedly in some cases up to 10 times. Most recycled materials are used in apparel, textiles, carpets, food containers, bottles, and totes.
PET plastics are usually recycled commercially by washing and re-melting. The plastics are graded, shredded, then washed. Once the size of the plastic pellets is standardized, they are melted, then extruded to form new products. That is a basic explanation of how it works, you get the idea. Almost every municipal recycling program in North America and Europe accepts PET containers.
For many years we have used several ways to recycle and reuse any plastic, paper, metal, and cartons that we need to discard. Many of the raw materials we buy come packaged in various forms, such as all natural raw honey which is packed in brand new metal drums.
