French Press Method
A medium grind works well with the French Press method. A general rule of thumb is using 1.23 oz/ 35 g of beans for every 16 oz/475 ml of water. Or 1 tablespoon of ground coffee for every 1 cup of water. Always use the purest water you can, it makes a difference. Investing in a good grinder is worth every cup you will enjoy forever after.
Pour the water over the coffee once just off the boil, that way you avoid scorching the coffee. Let it infuse for about 4 minutes, stir gently, and let it continue to infuse for up to 3 or 4 minutes longer, to your liking. Then press the coffee when ready to serve.
Cloud forests on the Western slopes of the Andes mountains where the coffee is cultivated.
Ecuador on the world map.
Cloud Forest Coffee Beans, a 100% Arabica blend hailing from the northwestern Andes of Ecuador, specifically the provinces of Carchi, Imbabura, and Pichincha. This exceptional coffee is the product of small coffee growers and actively supports the preservation of the Ecuadorian cloud forest. Recognized for its positive impact, it proudly received the “Ideas that Help your Community” 2010 award.
Delicately cultivated between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level in the Ecuadorian Andes, Cloud Forest Coffee benefits from the region’s high humidity. Warm air from the Pacific Ocean collides with the Andes Mountains, creating the perfect conditions for clouds to form above the coffee plantations during the afternoon hours, providing the requisite humidity for the coffee berries. This results in a medium roast coffee with a distinct flavor profile, derived from 100% Arabica varieties Bourbon and Caturra.
