Top Tips for Cooking Steel-Cut Oats

Stovetop (Best Method):
Bring 4 cups water and a pinch of salt to a boil. Stir in 1 cup Schullo steel-cut oats, reduce heat to low, and simmer 25–35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until creamy and tender. Remove from heat and let stand a few minutes to thicken.

Overnight Method:
Option 1: Pour 4 cups boiling water over 1 cup Schullo steel-cut oats, cover, and let sit overnight. Reheat in the morning before serving. You may need to cook it a little more to your preferred texture and creaminess.

Option 2: Bring 4 cups water and a pinch of salt to a boil. Stir in 1 cup steel-cut oats, reduce heat to low, and simmer 5-10 minutes, cover, and let sit overnight. Reheat in the morning before serving. You may need to cook it a little more to your preferred texture.

For Extra Flavor & Creaminess:
• Toast oats in butter or oil for 1–2 minutes before cooking for a nuttier taste
• Use a mix of water and milk for a richer texture

Serving Ideas:

Sweeten: Top with maple syrup, Schullo honey, sliced bananas, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.

More Fiber: Add chia seeds, flax seeds, berries, sliced apple, chopped nuts

Tropical twist: Add grated lemon zest and shredded coconut.

More Protein: Add a tablespoon of Schullo Peanut Butter, Greek yoghurt, Schullo Almond Butter, Cottage cheese.
